AVID OPUS Pre & OPUS Power
Reference Engineering. Pure Musical Performance.
5th August 2026, Cambridgeshire, UK:
Following a blur of new product launches; Relveo and Ingenium SE turntables, Velsonic,
Pellar II and Pulsus II phono stages, AVID continues its recent wave of innovation with the
introduction of the OPUS Pre and OPUS Power amplifiers. Together, they form a beautifully
matched amplification system, bringing technologies developed for AVID’s flagship
electronics to a wider audience.
OPUS Pre – The Heart of Your Music System
The gateway to musical excellence is held by the volume control and OPUS exploits arguably
the world’s finest volume control, the ALPS RK50, now enhanced with a newly integrated
remote operation. The result is exceptional transparency, dynamic expression and a level of
realism that makes every recording a spellbinding experience.
Drawing directly from the flagship CELSUS Pre, the OPUS Pre features the same substantial
toroidal transformer, bespoke analogue circuitry and AVID’s own polypropylene capacitors.
Not forgetting AVID’s analogue heritage, the OPUS Pre incorporates the latest award-
winning Pulsus II phono stage, powered by its own dedicated 35VA transformer for
complete electrical isolation. Featuring passive RIAA equalisation and adjustable gain and
loading, it extracts outstanding performance from both moving magnet and moving coil
cartridges.
OPUS Power – Effortless Authority
The OPUS Power amplifier combines exceptional drive capability with effortless refinement.
A massive 1,1KVA toroidal transformer and 132,000μF of reservoir capacitance provide
enormous power reserves, allowing the amplifier to remain composed during the most
demanding musical passages while revealing every detail with remarkable clarity and
control.
Custom amplifier topology, premium polypropylene capacitors and balanced or single-
ended connectivity ensure outstanding transparency, expansive sound staging and the
ability to drive even challenging loudspeakers with confidence.
