With the MA 6.3 stereo power amplifiers, we rely on an award-winning and proven amplifier concept in a compact design. The MA 6.3 are extremely powerful and fully balanced amplifiers for all genres of music. Characteristic is a powerful, detailed and fleetingly sound, which always remains relaxed. The MA 6.3 represents the technological sum of AVM’s experience in developing and manufacturing extremely musical power amplifiers since 1986. With the MA 6.3, AVM transfers the musical ideals of its great OVATION power amplifiers in a design-friendly and more compact design.
Combining the MA 6.3 with a CS 8.2 or CS 6.2 in a ‘Preceiver’ configuration, results in an extremely playful trio with unbridled power reserves.
With the preamplifiers of our OVATION series, such as an SD 6.2, we offer a state of the art analog preamplifier with all streaming capabilities. With the entirely modular PA 8.2 preamplifier, we also offer a high-end analog specialist.
The concept of the MA 6.3 is well known from the award-winning ‘8’ power amplifiers. With its generous output of 680 watts per channel, the MA 6.3 is available in a compact OVATION standard housing, equipped with external heat sinks. The MA 6.3 is designed as a balanced class A / AB amplifier which is built in the output stages with MOS-FET transistors. These MOS-FET transistors are inherently much faster than bi-polar transistors, though much harder to handle. The speed of this MOS FET-based circuit helps us realize an unprecedented level of tonal detail. The symmetrical circuit topology of the output stage provides a tonal fullness as you would expect from much more expensive power amplifiers.
The effort in the mono power amplifiers is immense. The mono / mono principle ensures ideal channel separation, while independent power supplies individually supply all stages of the MA 6.3 and thus effectively rule out undesired mutual interference between the amplifier stages. The input stages are fully DC coupled. The MA 6.3 power amplifiers are designed as a symmetrical architecture, ie there is a signal at both loudspeaker terminals (caution: neither of the two loudspeaker terminals may come into contact with the housing!). All boards are constructed with particularly strong and 75 µm thick pure copper tracks, completely gold-plated and coated with thermally tolerant black lacquer. All boards are assembled on site at AVM in the factory. The driver stage has its own, separately controlled operating point setting. We use our full know-how in the design of this amplifier stage, which is particularly relevant in terms of sound. For example, the LEDs used not only signal that they are working properly, they are also much quieter than Zener diodes. The output stages are supplied from a 1000VA main transformer, supported by 160,000µF (that’s 0.16F!) Ultra-quick capacitors in parallel.
The MA 6.3 is fully updateable, which means that further useful functions can easily be reloaded in the future. An active phase display makes it easier for you to make the correct connection. In MA 6.3, many useful little helpers work in the background for you and help you achieve maximum ease of use: protective circuits prevent damage, e.g. in the event of connection errors, as well as overheating and overload protection.
Like all AVM devices, the MA 6.3 are also manufactured entirely by hand in the Malsch factory – the vast majority of suppliers, for example for the precise housing parts, are also located in the immediate vicinity. Repeated, intensive quality controls during all production steps and a break-in period of several days for each individual device secure our promise of maximum reliability in the long term.
